Where you put your energy and time is where your life begins to thrive.
I’ve always been known as a homebody. That can be both good and bad, and I’m deeply aware of both sides of it. But this past year, I’ve intentionally poured my energy into myself and my family, and watching it all thrive has felt like an absolute dream.
There were years when I only hoped for the life I have now. I sent those hopes out into the universe like wishes made many moons ago. It took heartbreak, hardship, healing, and a whole lot of rebuilding to get here.
But I did it.
We did it.
Today, I slept in and woke up to a hot cup of coffee waiting for me. I spent my morning feeding my children and asking them how they slept. I took one child to a birthday party and another to an amusement park.
My younger children ran through the sprinkler while I relaxed in my hammock chair, and my boyfriend cooked dinner for us on the grill.
I talked with my youngest about his upcoming birthday — and wow, does he have a lot of ideas. I signed my middle daughter up for summer gymnastics and reminded her how proud I am of her hard work and accomplishments this school year.
I ended the evening quietly in my room with love beside me and our sweet dog curled up nearby. He really is the goodest boy.
Life is not perfect by any means. There is still stress, anxiety, fear, and uncertainty.
But today, I didn’t feel any of that.
Today, I simply witnessed the beauty of my life and my family. I saw the evidence of what can grow when you nurture it with love, time, and intention.
Ordinary, but overflowing. ♡
